Florist

Happy Monday all! After a wonderful weekend in Charleston I'm not too excited about being back to the grind in Athens. Fortunately a little floral goes a long way and today's sunshine has been a wonderful extension of my magical weekend away. For that pop of color on a cold day go for a shot of something bright and floral, it's bound to lighten your mood as well as your outfit. Today I stuck with the basics of blues, but vamped it up with berries and pinks!

Reminder: Black-Tie Affair

posted on: Wednesday, January 25, 2012

This weekend I will have the pleasure of heading down to Charleston, S.C. to accompany my boyfriend to their fraternity Formal. I will be sporting an old dress that I wore to my dear friend Chanel's wedding, as well as a fabulous pair of glitter shoes compliments of Katherine, and my prized sparkly necklace!

For my reminder this week I'm going to share with you all how wonderful it is to dress up for a black-tie event. With dressing up for a special night my advice to you would be to enjoy the night and love the outfit you're in, you never want to feel self conscience or you won't enjoy the magic of the evening.

Here are 5 tips on ways to vamp up your dress and look your best for the camera:
   1. Add something that shows off your personal style whether it's a statement piece of jewelry, a hair pin, or a vintage brooch.
   2. For sex-appeal you could add a lace slip to a plain dress for added dimension, however don't wear under a skin tight dress as to avoid wrinkling.
   3. Don't overdue your makeup! I know it's a special event but your date will notice if you layer on too much and the camera will definitely pick up the color difference between your face and neckline.
   4. Don't wear a heavy gloss. Wearing something that shiny may give your face an oily appearance, and if your date is your boyfriend he won't enjoy having to rub that sticky gloss off after every smooch!
   5. According to Coco Chanel "A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future," so ladies for that finishing touch of perfection add your favorite scent to your outfit to turn your dates head :) My go to scent it Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue.

The best thing for your night is to go out with confidence and have a wonderful time! I hope y'all enjoyed the tips!

Today is finally sunny in Athens, GA and so I went out to celebrate! When walking through town I finally saw some flowers almost like the sun had finally convinced them to come out for some fun. I hope everyone in Athens enjoyed the sunny day to shake off the rainy day blues!

Reminder:

Good evening ladies and gents,

As the New Year has officially set in I am going to officially start my Reminder Wednesday's with all of the do's and don'ts of fashion and style, as well as advice on how to achieve that beautiful finished look you desire.

As a college student I have seen my fair share of outfits that are definitely grounds for an arrest, so to kick off my Reminder's I'm going to remind all young women across the U.S. that Nike shorts are not to be worn year round, actually they are called "Nike Running Shorts," because they are to be worn when running. In fact if it's cold outside you should probably put on pants of some kind to keep you warm, rather than your running shorts and UGG boots. This is not stylish and I know you are not as comfortable as you say you are because you have chill bumps. In conclusion, jeans are a wonderful asset to any college wardrobe. A pair of dark skinny jeans with cute ballet flats or boots will keep you warm and just as comfortable! There is no reason to be lazy and not care about what you wear, anywhere you go! What we wear defines the image we want others to see. I see beautiful women...who are not running... but who can be the stylish women they have the ability to be, so fold up those shorts until your next run, and grab your jeans or cute dress with bright tights! A little style goes a long way!

Happy Sunday everyone! This is my last day in Savannah before heading back to Ath to start the next semester. Bluff Drive is the perfect place to shoot some pictures as well as walk and gossip with Mom. I always leave missing the beauty of the marsh! I hope everyone's holidays were blessed and full of love... Off for a day of driving!

New Year, New Me

posted on: Friday, January 6, 2012

Darling friends,

I am so sorry I have been out of function lately, but this is my new vow to you to bring something fresh and stylish to your life at LEAST three days a week :) Over the break I got some quality relaxing time in and have enjoyed the act of doing absolutely nothing but catch up on all the things I had forsaken over this past semester, things like Glee and Gossip Girl (cannot WAIT for January 16th!), shopping for things to spruce up my apartment, and all my beloved antiquing!

But this year my New Year's resolution is to try and achieve the impossible....... I will try not to buy any new clothes for the year 2012. I know, I know, this is crazy, however I'm up for the challenge of making my own clothes and to revamp with accessories (but of course gifts will be gladly worn :)).  My goal is to recreate my wardrobe using things I already have or making things I can incorporate into my closet! Wish me luck ladies and gents! And since I'm announcing this officially I have you all to hold me accountable. Hopefully it won't be tooo much torture!

But I would love to here you're New Year's resolutions! Let me know what 2012 has in store for you, we can challenge ourselves together!
