one thing that i'm loving about the transitions this year is that spring colors are carrying over beautifully into fall!
designers are trading in the darker shades for lighter pastel tones that add a wintery glow.
today i wore some of my spring staples and layered them up for a fall feel.
how do you like to transition your wardrobe into fall??
are there any subjects you'd like me to do a feature on? I'd love to help out and share some ideas with you!

yesterday mom and i had the pleasure of heading over to buttermilk kitchen for our last meal together on her visit. we ordered up two cups of coffee and dove into our waffles and french toast...buttermilk kitchen has officially moved to number one on my list of favorite brunch spots in buckhead. i hope everyone had as wonderful a weekend as i did! did anyone else try heading to a pumpkin patch (like i did in my last post,) or did you carry out another fall tradition?? I'd love to hear about it!

happy wednesday everyone! today my hump day treat was a pumpkin spiced latte from my beloved starbucks...probably one of my favorite parts of october. along with pumpkin spiced pancakes, pumpkin spiced tea, pumpkin spiced cookies stuffed with caramel, pumpkin muffins... i try and manage to find a way to have pumpkin in most of my food during october :)
today was black and white paired with my favorite soft pink scarf, not to mention my new fall staples from kate spade, my little black tuxedo flats! love love love the flair they add to any outfit.
happy wednesday!

transitions

as we begin another week the weather becomes even cooler allowing us to unearth some sweaters, boots, and light jackets as we prepare for the cooler months ahead. part of me is still holding on to those summer months though... so i decided to pair my beloved maxi with a denim short sleeve top. this pairing is extremely comfortable yet the colors are fall transfer worthy and the boots add a flair for cooler weather on its way.

i hope everyone had wonderful starts to their week; i certainly did! today was actually my day off from the work week so i managed to lay around in my pjs most of the day so i'm covering up my laziness with pics taken a few days ago :) today i enjoyed a movie marathon and some quality cuddle time with Cat... don't judge me!

happy monday! xo,

hey everyone,
it's finally the middle of the week... my how time seems to be flying by so quickly! i feel like just yesterday i was looking forward to the fourth of july, and now i'm looking forward to seeing all of the cute kids prancing around in their costumes at end of the month!
i'm getting dress up started a little early this month and decided today i would be a new york gal. just imagine that i'm running around the city (instead of the atlanta marta station), flats tucked away in my bag in case my heels take their toll...and hey if i get lost, i can always take off my scarf, and check out the nyc map :)
happy wednesday everyone and thanks for stopping by!
did anyone get to try out some fall decor like my pumpkin post from yesterday??
i'd love to hear about it!

hey everyone! i arrived back home yesterday from a trip down to summerton to visit daniel. it was a short, but sweet escape from the ordinary hustle and bustle in atlanta. i didn't take any glamour shots for the blog since i decided to stay in my favorite tshirt and distressed jeans for the day of my visit... sometimes i like to embrace that country girl that lingers in me. today i'm back to work and i'm loving the beautiful fall weather that i feel coming our way here in the south. being from savannah we don't get much of a change in foliage, up in atlanta and the north georgia mountains the trees change from green, to red, orange, and yellow. it's such a beautiful transition. i can't wait to head to a pumpkin patch soon!

i hope everyone has a wonderful day!

this fall a great trend starting is the pairing of green and black, especially zebra stripe textures...because i have not had a chance (or the budget) to go out and shop for a few new fall key pieces i looked to what i already had in my closet for a bit of inspiration.

every girl has a classic white v-neck and a pair of black pants or shorts. i took these key items and paired them with a vintage scarf and a tweed flower that i've had in my closet for as long as i can remember. i loved the lady-like look that came out of the pairing, and the colors were right on point for popular colors this fall.

these trusty pumps from zara add spice to every outfit!

how do you plan to incorporate this trend? do you like it??
let me know what you think!

hey everyone! how was the weekend?? i hope you found it relaxing, full of good food, and quality time with family and friends... certainly what I would have been doing if I had not been working! ah the woes of working in retail! but someone has to be there while you ladies shop till you drop :)

today i'm doing my take on pearls with my treasured wooden gems from a boutique i found on my first trip to italy. in italy i was so entranced by the easy, yet poised style that all of these women embraced... and they call it "la sprezzatura," or studied nonchalance. the perfect definition that i aim for my style to be, it's studied but its carefree and easy. a button down, with a splash of character, like my wooden necklace, or a be-jeweled style that you can find at any J. Crew is an easy go to that i always turn to for...la sprezzatura!

happy thursday everyone!
how was the day? it was beautiful weather here in Atlanta,
and I had the pleasure of having the day off to enjoy it :))

so a fun fact about me is that i am absolutely obsessed with audrey hepburn. i know, i know, a lot of people say that....but i am beyond obsessed with her. i have about 15 books about her, a picture of her in every room of my house, i can quote most of the movies she was in, AND i have managed to memorize all of the songs in My Fair Lady. i buy clothes because they remind me of her, and i plan to one day have breakfast at tiffany's. i aspire to have her grace, her style, and have a love for little things, which it seemed that she truly did. i may have her on a pedestal of what i imagine the perfect woman to be...but hey, she seemed pretty damn perfect.

goodmorning folks!

i am back in action after a relaxing weekend filled with a visit from my beau, and a breakfast date with my brother... needless to say, what a wonderful weekend!

lately i have been scouring the pages of all of the fall fashion editions of magazines. i cannot wait to start pulling out my fall pieces, however that may happen later rather than sooner down here in the southern heat. this shift dress is the perfect pop of color, and according to lucky magazine bright pinks mixed with rich navy's and black's will be quite the popular trend this fall! i'm looking forward to playing around with this bright piece!

thanks for stopping in, and make sure to follow to stay up to date on all things darcy
